Attendance Policy

Purpose

This Attendance Policy ensures that all students at Wake Forest Driving Academy meet the state-mandated requirement of 30 hours of classroom instruction necessary to receive a Driver Education Certificate.

Mandatory Attendance

Attendance in all classroom sessions is mandatory to fulfill the state requirement of 30 hours of driver education.Virtual class: Cameras must be on at all times during virtual sessions, and students are expected to remain engaged throughout the class.

State Law Compliance

As required by state law, WFDA cannot grant exceptions for missing the required 30 hours of classroom instruction.

Makeup Sessions

Students who miss an entire class (3 hours) will have the option to attend a designated in-person makeup session at the WFDA office after their session ends.The makeup session is typically scheduled approximately two weeks after the class ends.The makeup session is offered at a rate of $25 per hour missed, totaling $75 for the full three-hour session.During the makeup session, students must log in, complete the missed coursework, and take the final exam.Alternatively, students may choose to wait until the next available class to complete the missed session at no additional cost.

Behind-the-Wheel Instruction

Students who miss classroom instruction are still eligible to complete their behind-the-wheel training as scheduled.However, completion of the makeup session is required to fulfill the classroom requirement and receive a Driver Education Certificate.

Compliance and Acknowledgment

By enrolling in WFDA, students and parents acknowledge and agree to this Attendance Policy and understand the importance of adhering to the state-mandated requirements for driver education.
